EXTRAIT DE PARFUM
Generalife
Generalife
From the Arabic "Jannat al-Arif"
It was the summer palace of the Nasrid princes. They came to cool off in the shade, near the water basins. The Generalife is located outside the enclosure walls, on the other side of the main plateau.
This palace is very famous in Spain and several poems have been written on this subject. The name is derived from the Arabic "Jannat al-Arif" meaning "paradise" or "gardens of the architect".
The availability of water characterizes this Andalusia dominated by the snow-capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada: the Alhambra and the gardens of the Generalife are the strongest symbols of this domestication of water that refreshed each courtyard and garden.
